Siblings: Two Peas in a Pod or Night & Day?

I know my children are still very young, but I have already seen some major differences between the two of them in the past few months. For example, Tyler has always been very "free" with sharing his laughs and giggles. We never had to work very hard to get some out of him. Bria, on the other hand, laughs some, but it takes a lot of effort on our part just to get a little "tee hee". We don't often get the "belly laughs" as Matt refers to them, from Bria. Another thing I've noticed is that Bria is very motivated and ambitious. After all, she's been doing "crunches" since she was about a month or two old. If she sees a toy, she goes after it, regardless of how she gets there. But while she has these admirable characteristics, I've also noticed that if she doesn't succeed at something right away, she gets frustrated and gives up. Now granted, I'm only observing this in what she attempts right now, like crawling. She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, but when she doesn't succeed in moving FORWARD, she flops on her belly and cries. Tyler was always more deliberate when he tried something new...he kept trying and trying and eventually succeeded and was SO proud of himself when he did. Bria also goes from happy to REALLY mad in about 2.2! Tyler always built up when he was getting upset and you could usually stave off a fit (when he was younger, now, not so much!) if you got to him pretty quickly. When Bria's upset there's no stopping her fit unless you pick her up RIGHT NOW!



And now for their similarities...

*They both didn't care for baby food, especially carrots. Don't know what it was about baby food carrots, but even though they would eat them, we'd always see them later and usually have really fussy babies after they ate them.


*Along those same lines, they have wanted "real" food way before they're "supposed" to. Tyler weaned himself at 8 months and even though Bria is still nursing, she only does so about 3x a day.


*There is of course, the most OBVIOUS similarity: their red hair. No doubt about it, you can tell they are related. Of course the most common question Matt & I get when we're all out together is "Where did they get the red hair!?"
