One year ago today, Matt was unexpectedly let go from his job. How thankful we are for the provisions that God has given to us since then! We were just reminiscing last night of everything that happened a year ago. There were some major prayer requests in the first 5-6 months of the year last year. Here's a quick recap:
Jan: We were told that Matt had to have surgery on his shoulder again...outlook was not good as far as Matt having much use of his dominant arm
Feb: The insurance company approved Cyberknife treatment instead of surgery
March: Cyberknife treatment performed (& was successful, which we found out later)
April: Took a trip to VA (not knowing what the following month was going to bring us)
May: Matt was unexpectedly laid off from his job. 3 weeks after that, he was hired at his current job!
June: Matt started his new job.
And how appropriate that my verses this morning for my devotions were Philippians 4:6-7 (emphasis mine)
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer & petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
How thankful we truly are for all the provisions God has given us. He is so gracious. We are thankful for everything that has happened because it strengthened our faith, helped us ask for help from others when we didn't want to, and brought us closer together too.
