Sorry for the lack of posts recently, our computer decided to die on us (or at least the motherboard did) and we were without a computer for 2 weeks. A huge annoyance and inconvience, but it's back now and hopefully will be functioning for a LONG time.

The Old Shawnee Parade was last Saturday. We also had a wedding to go to that day, so it was a very busy day. The kids loved the parade. Tyler said his favorite part was all the candy (don't worry, after just finishing last year's rations of parade candy, we are fully stocked for another year!) and the fire trucks.

On Memorial Day, we had a bbq to thank the Manns, Pattersons, and Hannas for all their help with our new sidewalk. We had wanted to have them over for awhile, but this was the first date that worked out for everyone and since the Hannas are moving to Pennsylvania to take on a pastorate there, we decided we better make it soon. We had a great time.

Matt took the kids to the processional for the Shawnee

fireman who was killed searching a burning house. This is the
truck that carried the casket to the church, 15 miles away.
Emergency vehicles came from all over, neighboring
cities and states. Matt said it was very impressive, but
not something he really wanted to repeat seeing.
Tyler too, was quite impressed with the line of
emergency vehicles. Matt said when they got home, he
pulled out all his polices cars, firetrucks, and ambulances
and lined them up, just like the processional.
